Supporting Locally is a registered company which was set up in 2011 by Dave Oldroyd.  

 

I gained experience as a volunteer and then progressed to being a trustee.  Following me securing funding I then took my first position. I have since worked as Business Development Manager for a charity, and CEO for the trading arm I set up for the Charity.  I have worked with many different third sector organisations on a variety of matters, I have learned the answer usually lies within the organisation, it's just a question of giving people the tools to do the job.

He has an MSC in Charity Resource management and is DCHA (Diploma in Charity Accounting) qualified, he has wide experience of supporting third sector organisations.

I have supported a variety of organisations of different sizes to deal with varied and difficult issues which have arisen, this ranges from shortage of funding, developing a business plan, unexpected crisis etc.  We have always made a start by working with all concerned to identify the issues, look for the solution and develop the actions.

 

I currently sit on three management committees as a volunteer director/trustee. They range from small to medium size.  I therefore understand the hard work and commitment it takes to run an organisation as a volunteer on a management committee, this is one of the reasons I set up “Supporting Locally”.

 

I attend all the meetings personally and complete all the subsequent work,
